After I completed the blog this evening I read my yahoo messages only to discover the following message from Irene's family.
Irene passed away quietly this morning at about 11am. We will announce funeral arrangements within the next few days.Thank you all for being a part of Irene's life.

The world has lost a spiritual giant and a dedicated caring daughter of Christ. I will miss her very much.

Tho I never met Irene, or ever spoke with her, thru your blog entries I felt her strength of character, and her inner beauty as she cared for you and Nan, and beyond. I feel sad for you, and her family at this loss of someone you cared for.

Hi Tim,
Not sure if We ever had the pleasure of meeting Irene but We too feel saddened at Her passing and Pray that the Good Lord will provide the strength to pass thru this difficult time for the Family.
How We all long for the day when Cancer will no longer take Our loved ones away.
