What a fun day! There times when life seems really good and meaningful. Today is one of those days.
We woke late, after 8 am! Then Jo and Jason created an excellent breakfast with whole wheat pancakes. Then it was time to get ready for Sabbath School which at MBA is a huge production. It was a full house today and the kidos enjoyed singing, doing activities all under the lets go camping these. It is amazing just how complicated the program becomes and the kids have a blast as do the adults.
Our perfect day is marred with thick smoke from the nearby fire which is continuing to burn with little control so far. Even though the actual fire is miles away the wind brings the smoke right over the campus and the bay. Instead of eating outside at the school potluck and endure the choking effects of the smoke we instead opted for a lovely lunch in town at a tiny Italian place where the food was outstanding. Marilyn treated us to an unforgettable lunch.
Afterwards we headed back to MBA and naps for all, even the dogs took a break from barking to rest. Our weather has not been too warm and while I was resting in the leather recliner in the motorhome my feet grew colder and colder. Starr came to the rescue and curled up on my feet and saved the day.
After the nap I tried to make the laptop connect to the wireless internet but after hours of trying I had to finally give up. If you know me when it comes to mechanical things I hate to give up but finally I'm giving up on the connection and instead am writing this on Jo's laptop in the house which is connected perfectly.
This evening Jo and Jason had a couple over who are about a day from having their new baby girl. Jason is a vegetarian but really knows his way around the BBQ and created some chicken that seems to gather raves. We also cooked corn and gardenburgers which turned out great.
Now we are watching over Timothy while Jason and Jo are heading out for a late night on the town. They enjoy having me come visit partially so they can have the chance to get out. Works all around since I love to spend time with Timothy. The only way this day could be better is if my other family could be here but with Nikki just home from her week away working they are enjoying a family day together.
Tomorrow we will head back to Discovery Bay and the hotter climate. It has been amazing here with the cool nights and the beautiful views of the ocean and the protected world of MBA. Jason and Jo are doing a very courageous thing this year with Jo resigning from teaching and instead staying home with Timothy. That means they must live on a single salary and the challenges of living in California on less income. Yet they firmly believe this is the right answer and I laud them for giving it a try.
I hope your weekend is going great and that you are enjoying family, worship and fellowship.
So take care my friends,
love to all
Tim
