Kallie comes home

Dear Friends and Family,
Kallie and Nikki came home this morning. She has proven to be a very vocal and stubborn little lady so far, mostly she just cuddles and sleeps but there are moments when nothing seems to satisfy her and she lets the world know about it. Steve had a very important business contact meeting today but was totally willing to cancel it to be there to bring Kallie and Nikki home. They talked and knowing I was more than willing and very ready to help I got the honors. Nikki had Kallie ready and for the first time she got to try the little car seat, at first she did not like it but then settled down and slept all the way home. Keanna was so gentle and kind to her and was very intrigued by this little tiny living doll. We arrived home and Nikki and baby got settled, then I had to leave with Keanna for a birthday party in Manteca. Nikki and Kallie had some noisy moments and finally some quiet sleeping ones. She likes to be held and is not so happy with being in a bed. She likes to be wound real tight in her blankets and have her feet and hands covered with little mittens and booties. The photo is from when Nikki took her across the street to meet the neighbors. The other photo is of her in her little car seat. I have also included one of Keanna doing her part to bust open the pinatas at the birthday party for her friend Joanna from Sabbath School.
This evening after leaving Keanna off I came home and mowed the lawn, put away a few groceries and have been talking on the phone to friends and sort of unwinding. I've had Keanna since Friday morning and it has been a blast. She is such a bright little girl, full of ideas, moving story lines, book creations, stops at McDonalds, feeding ducks and geese, finding excuses why not to go to bed early. What a fun little gal she is.
So reluctantly in the morning I walk and then begin cranking out work again. What an exciting event and Kallie has brought such excitement to our families., she is such a little cutie, perfect in every way.
So my family and friends, we send our love and thanks for the many messages, calls and emails of joy. Thank you.
Part of recovering life and moving forward is the ability to treasure new and exciting moments. Nikki, Keanna and I all shared a few tears or as Keanna would explain to her dolls, we were having a sad moment. Especially when we passed by Union Cemetary where mom is resting it sort of tore us up. How could it be otherwise. If there was one thing that Nan could not get enough of it was the grandkids. She would fly half way across the country to find just the right outfit. She loved to see her kids and their kids and so we have to move forward without that guiding beacon of love and devotion to the family and its very hard to do so. Yes we are on track to recovery but there are real bumps of sadness along the way.
Good night,

love

tim
ps someone questioned if the old account, mustards@jps.net is turned off. I still pay the monthly fee but have not used it in months so perhaps it is just too full. I'll look into it. My direct emails are timmustard@yahoo.com or discoapp@comcast.net. Right now we are so excited about Dana coming on Thursday and soon there after Marilyn is coming and then Dana and Ronnie are coming again to visit and vacation and we hope Jan can come. This week Lammerdings are roughing it on a huge cruise ship in Alaska. Our hearts go out to them as they struggle with this extreme experience, of pushing away from the table and the midnight buffet!
