Thoughts about the walk

Dear Friends and Family,
How good it was to see Barbara and her husband again. She is one of those GIST warriors whose body is still responding to Gleevec well. How Nan loved to see her and talk to her. We first met when we were both going to be a City of Hope at the same time for appointments. Nan loved seeming them and what followed was very enjoyable as they attended a GIST gathering we had at the house, we got together in Vegas once and another time at a place in LA with several GISTers. In this old world with all its ups and downs special people are really the frosting on the cake of life. The walk brought many people together, some had just heard about it and like to help, others were walking almost in distress from the effects of the disease. Irene did a very good thing for her GIST community and her extensive efforts were rewarded richly.

For me today was, walk 3 miles, drive 55 miles, see properties in Pleasant Hills and Oakland, drive back to DB, pick up Keanna, visit McDonalds, deliver Keanna to her daddy, back to the office to write an appraisal, make appointments, then have an inspiration after reading over the helpful material Sylvia had produced to go to Raley's. Since it was my first time there it took awhile but I now have many more of the pieces of the puzzle which will lead to balanced meals. When I got home I discovered that a check had arrived in the mail, one more very welcome piece in the puzzle of this week, how to pay, pay, pay.

Tomorrow we walk at 6:30 in the total darkness, then I drive to Oakland for appointments, then back to collect Keanna. Keanna is the bright spot in a ordinary days, its fun to see her explore math, spelling, phonics, writing.... she is delighted with it all, who can resist the excitement of a child learning to read. I sure can't!!

Well its off to bed now, eyes are dry, tired, yes its time.

love

tim

Hey Dad,
Glad to hear you're keeping busy. Hope to see you sometime soon. Tell Nikki, Steve and the girls that we send our best. Timothy misses his cousins!
